Rusan Picatinny Rail, Sabatti Rover SA Detajli

Introduction
Picatinny rail consists of slots with 5.23 mm spaces between one another, which means that it can be used across its entire length. It is simple to mount and interchangeable – if something is made for a Picatinny rail, it will fit regardless of the manufacturer or manufacturing date. It is affordable, resilient and reliable – this is why it so commonly used by professionals and military. Because of all its great qualities, Picatinny rail has been dominating the rail market in the recent years.
Picatinny is a big step forward from the Weaver standard. Weaver has a few predesignated slots while Picatinny has slots all over its surface, allowing the device to be mounted wherever the user finds it fitting. Weaver’s slot is 3.8 mm wide, which is why ring mounts made for a Weaver rail will also fit on a Picatinny rail while ring mounts made specifically for a Picatinny rail will not fit on a Weaver rail. This is one of the main reasons why Picatinny is a far better mounting solution.
Rusan, a company from Croatia, is one of the manufacturers of Picatinny rails. They make mounts exclusively from steel and provide buyers with a wide selection of Picatinny rails for various rifles. They are made from high quality deep blue finish steel. Picatinny Rails include screws with appropriate thread for the corresponding rifle. Rusan covers 10 years of warranty for all its products.
About the rifle
The Italian region of Val Trompia is known for its weapon craftsmanship history. The Sabatti family are among those credited for the region’s reputation. Lodovico Sabatti, for example, was an excellent designer of flintlock pistols and barrels, while Giuseppe Sabatti made exceptional blunderbusses. Another Giuseppe Sabatti was one of the best gunsmiths in the world during the first half of the nineteenth century. In 1960, the sons of Antonio Sabatti started a business based on the manufacture of shotguns and rifles – it soon became a success. Since then, the Sabattis are continuing the tradition of their predecessors by constantly looking to satisfy the demands of firearms users around the world. Because so many members of this family excelled in weapon craftsmanship, Sabatti has remained a renowned and reputable company up to this day.

As regards action length, there are two versions of Sabatti Rover rifles – Sabatti Rover 600 rifles with a short receiver and Sabatti Rover 870 rifles with a long receiver. Both 600 and 870 models are bolt-action rifles. This mount is suitable for Sabatti Rover Model 600 (short action).

Model 600 is an updated version of Rover 73 and is based on the mechanism of Mauser 98. It is similar to 870 but is only available with a short receiver, which is why it is only chambered for small calibers: .222 Rem., .222 Rem. Mag., .223 Rem., 6 mm PPC, 7mm-08 Rem. and 7.62×39. The Custom L model which has a slightly longer action is chambered for .243 Win., 6.5×55 SE, .25-06 Rem. and .308 Win. For mounting purposes, there are two holes on the front and two holes on the rear mounting surface. The barrel is 53 cm long while the overall length is 107 cm. The safety catch, designed to lock both the trigger and the bolt, is on the right side, behind the locking lever.

Model 870 is an updated version of Model 87. In contrast to Model 600, Model 870 is available in both short and long-action versions. Tthe rifle is chambered for: 5.6×57, 6×62 Frères, .243 Win., 6.5×55 SE, 6.5×57, 6.5×55 RWS, .270 Win., 7×57, .308 Win., .30-06 Sprg., 8×57 and 9.3×62. The fixed magazine holds a max. of 5 cartridges. For mounting purposes, there are two holes on the front side of the receiver and two holes on the rear side of the receiver, 4 holes altogether.

Sabatti Rover rifles are available in two action lengths. When a rifle is available in more than one action length, only two-piece mounts are interchangeable between these rifles – a two-piece mount made for Sabatti Rover 870 (long action) can also be mounted on Sabatti Rover 600 (short action). One-piece mounts will only fit a rifle with a specific action length – a one-piece mount made for Sabatti Rover 870 (long action) will not fit Sabatti Rover 600 (short action).

Mounting instructions
Remove all the stains (grease, oil etc.) from the rifle’s receiver with a cleaning fluid (acetone). Once the surface is clean and dry, check whether the screws match the rail and the holes on the receiver. Make sure that the Picatinny rail is compatible with the rifle by inspecting the mounting holes on both. Before mounting the rail permanently, apply a minimal amount of thread-locking fluid 278 or 648 on screws and contact surfaces. Be careful not to get the fluid in or near the mounting holes. Carefully clean the remaining excess fluid around the rail with a cleaning fluid. Using a torque driver, screw the screws appropriately (up to 2.2 Nm) – do not overtighten.
Warranty
The product has a warranty period of 10 years.
